Bij internettoegang:
- Inlognaam (toegewezen gebruikersidentificatie)
- IP adres (gebruikersidentificatie van elke communicatie met het netwerk)
- NAW gegevens van de gebruiker en NAW gegevens van de beoogde ontvanger
- Datum en tijdstip van de log-on en log-off van een internetsessie (gebaseerd op bepaalde tijdzone)
- De gebruikte internetdienst
- Inbelnummer in het geval van inbelverbinding
- DSL of ander eindpunt van de initiatiefnemer van de communicatie, zoals bij:
* Inbellen - telefoonnummer waarmee wordt gebeld;
* WIFI - MAC-adres;
* DSL - telefoonnummer en/of poortnummer.

Bij e-mail, per mailbericht:
- IP-adres (waarmee mail wordt opgehaald en verstuurd)
- User ID
- E-mail adres verzender (ook het “FROM” veld) en e-mail adres beoogde ontvanger (ook het “TO”, “CC” en ” BCC” veld)
- Andere e-mailadressen/aliassen van de gebruiker
- Datum en tijdstip van communicatie
- NAW gegevens (indien aanwezig)
- Wijze waarop mail wordt verzonden/ontvangen (POP, webmail, etc.)

Bij internettelefonie:
- Telefoonnummer beller
- Telefoonnummer ontvanger
- IP adressen
- NAW gegevens
- Datum en tijdstip start en einde communicatie
- Welke protocol/telefoondienst wordt gebruikt

In de loop der jaren hebben we zelfstandig of op verzoek steeds meer van onze privacy prijsgegeven. Om aanspraak te kunnen maken op betere service of mooie aanbiedingen, of ter bescherming tegen kwaadwillenden. Soms wordt onze privacy aangetast zonder dat we het door hebben. Aan deze ontwikkeling zitten grote consequenties die moeilijk te keren zijn. Eenmaal opgegeven gebieden van eigen beschikkingsrecht zijn op een later tijdstip moeilijk of onmogelijk weer terug te winnen.

Ieder mens heeft het eigen recht om zijn privacy te beperken of te verruimen voor zover deze daartoe in staat is. Iedereen staat het vrij om de meest persoonlijke informatie op een vriendensite of een blog te zetten. We kunnen kiezen voor een bedrijf dat in meer of mindere mate bescherming biedt over onze persoonlijke informatie. Maar in de overheid is geen keuze. En de geschiedenis heeft uitgewezen hoe snel een overheid van koers kan veranderen.

Met deze film willen we het bewustzijn vergroten over alle aspecten van privacybeperkende maatregelen, van datamining tot beveiligingscamera’s, van loyalty cards tot identiteitsdiefstal. Maar vooral willen we iedereen uitdagen de dialoog aan te gaan om op zoek te gaan naar de balans tussen privacy en veiligheid.
